As a Works Manager in the Operations department, your role will have responsibility for the management and delivery of specific schemes/projects emanating from the capital works programme for Suffolk Highways across a range of different asset groups.

This will include schemes related to drainage, structures, road surface treatment and re surfacing, footway improvements/reconstruction and slurry, Local Highways Budget, gully cleansing, grass cutting, weed treatment and minor works and Major Works. You will also be responsible and accountable for managing schemes to ensure tasks relating to delivering design and construction quality, timeliness, risk and commercial are completed in accordance with Suffolk Highways processes and procedures. There will also be the opportunity to assist the Planned Works Manager and work closely with other Suffolk Highways business functions.

Responsibilities;
• Produce and check Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans
• Produce works programmes and liaise with contractor to ensure programme dates are met
• Liaise and facilitate relationships with designers, contractors, stakeholders, public and client
• Manage all permits and approvals for the schemes
• Assist in resolving site/construction issues
• Arrange and chair progress meetings with contractors
• Ensure schemes are constructed in accordance to the approved design
• Ensure workforce adhere to H&S and Environmental rules
